Parish Planting Day

Parish Planting Day

Parish Planting Day – A Day of Prayer, Planting, and Community Spirit

On 27th April 2025 at 10.30 am, St Ann’s Catholic Church held its Parish Planting Day – a special occasion where parishioners of all ages came together to reflect, share ideas, and help shape the future direction of our parish community.

The day began with a well-attended Mass, followed by the opening of the newly built St Francis of Assisi Fountain, a symbol of peace and care for creation, in honour of the patron saint of ecology.

Children from our Catechism programmes enthusiastically invited everyone to take part, bringing a sense of youthful joy and unity. One of the most moving moments of the day was when families and individuals planted flowers and shrubs across the church grounds in memory of their loved ones. After each planting, they paused to say a prayer — a simple, heartfelt act that made the garden feel truly sacred.

The day concluded with light refreshments in the garden area, offering everyone time to chat, relax, and enjoy the fruits of their shared efforts.

The Parish Planting Day was not just about planting or planning — it was about community. It was about remembering, rejoicing, and re-committing ourselves to building a parish rooted in love, faith, and service.

We thank everyone who participated, especially our young people, for making the day so meaningful.
